Arsenal transfer news: Wenger pushing for deal for highly-rated German forward

Wenger hopes a deal can be done for German starlet.

Promising Arsenal youngster Serge Gnabry is wanted by fellow Premier League outfit West Brom Albion on-loan for the 2015-16 campaign, and Arsene Wenger wants the player to move to gain experience, Mirror Sport reports.

The 19-year-old attacking midfielder failed to make a first-team appearance for the Gunners last season and it’s been well over a year since his last competitive game for the club as he has struggled with various injuries.

He was named in the Germany squad for the Euro U21 tournament in the Czech Republic earlier in the summer, but made just one appearance as a substitute.

Gnabry is highly-rated by Gunners manager Arsene Wenger, who handed the player a professional debut in the League Cup tie against Coventry in 2012.

However, with the North London well stocked for attacking options at the moment, Gnabry could find opportunities limited and the Mirror now state that Wenger is keen for his starlet to head out on loan to build up his match fitness and gain top-flight experience.

The Baggies have emerged as potential suitors, but given the frosty history between Wenger and Tony Pulis it would be somewhat of a surprise if the pair are willing to do business with each other.
