Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger set to axe David Ospina as part of goalkeeper reshuffle [Video]

David Ospina looks set to lose his battle with Wojciech Szczesny to become the Arsenal number two goalkeeper this season, as reports in Star Sport suggest the Colombian international has emerged as a transfer target for La Liga giants Valencia.

The arrival of legendary stopper Petr Cech from rivals Chelsea last month has resulted in speculation that one of Ospina or Szczesny will be shown the exit door by Arsene Wenger this summer as he would face the impossible task of keeping all three happy next season.

Despite taking over from the Pole towards the end of last season, it appears Ospina, who only joined the club from Ligue 1 outfit Nice last summer, has drawn the short straw and could be set to sign for Valencia during the transfer window.

The 26-year-old has also been linked with a stay in England as fellow Premier League outfit Everton have reportedly shown an interest as they look for a long-term replacement for Tim Howard [via Mail Sport].

It may seem a little harsh if Ospina is the one that has to leave as he reminded the world of his brilliant shot-stopping qualities whilst playing in the Copa America tournament this summer, meanwhile Szczesny continues to make the headlines for all the wrong reasons as he was caught inhaling ‘hippy crack’ over the weekend [via Mail Online].
