Tottenham Hotspur’s hopes of bringing Paris Saint-Germain stopper Salvatore Sirigu to White Hart Lane have been dealt a blow with the news that Valencia are also keen on the Italy keeper.

With Iker Casillas having confirmed his departure from Real Madrid to FC Porto over the weekend [The Guardian], the Merengues’ efforts to sign Manchester United guardsman David De Gea may well be set to increase [Daily Star].

The Red Devils are rumoured to be eyeing several potential replacements for the 24-year-old Spain keeper, with the likes of Fernando Muslera [Metro] and Jasper Cillessen [talkSPORT] having been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Another option may be Victor Valdes, the experienced La Roja stopper who is already on the club’s books.

However, the Metro have reported that United remain keen on Spurs’ Hugo Lloris, and see the French captain as an ideal replacement for De Gea.

The Metro report that the Lilywhites, ‘fearful’ of a potential United approach for their keeper, are eyeing PSG’s Sirigu as a potential replacement for Lloris.

The Italian’s place at the Parc des Princes has come under scrutiny following the arrival of Kevin Trapp, with the German keeper unlikely to be content with a backup role.

However, while the Metro noted that the Spurs are favourites for the 28-year-old, reports in Spain indicate that they face competition for the former Palermo man.
