Chelsea new-look 2015-16 XI, including world-class Barcelona and Real Madrid forwards

Over the past week, Chelsea have been linked with Barcelona’s Pedro and Real Madrid’s Isco, as Jose Mourinho looks to follow on from the signing of former Manchester United striker Radamel Falcao.

In light of such transfer speculation, we’ve put together a potential Blues XI for the 2015-16 season – when the Premier League champions begin their title defence – and it should certainly leave England’s top four in fear.

Take a look below…

GK – Thibaut Courtois

Despite new signing Asmir Begovic having been handed the No.1 shirt, the Belgium international is set to continue as Mourinho’s first-choice stopper.

RB – Branislav Ivanovic

The Serbian has arguably been the Blues’ most consistent performer over the past three seasons, and his performances – not to mention the fact that there is little competition in this position – should see the 31-year-old continue to dominate at right-back.

CB – Gary Cahill

The 29-year-old’s form was questioned at times last season, but a strong end to the season should see Chelsea’s English centre-back partnership remain intact.

CB – John Terry

Along with Eden Hazard, the Blues captain was outstanding in seeing the Premier League trophy return to Stamford Bridge for the first time in five years – playing every minute in their title-winning campaign.

LB – Cesar Azpilicueta

Such is the excellent form of the Spaniard that position contender Filipe Luis is assessing his future in west London after just one season.
