(Video) Robin van Persie completes Fenerbahce transfer; ex-Man United star gets glorious reception upon unveiling

Robin van Persie was presented to the Fenerbahce fans on Tuesday afternoon having finally completed his move from Manchester United.

The Istanbul giants confirmed that the Dutch forward had signed on their official twitter account on Tuesday afternoon, before the forward was unveiled before a packed Sukru Saracoglu Stadium some hours later.

The striker flew to Istanbul at the weekend, before passing his medical on Monday, according to the Daily Mail.

The English tabloid also report that the forward agreed terms on a three-year contract with the Super Lig heavyweights, and will be set to earn £240,000 per week.

While Fener fans are clearly delighted to have signed one of the best strikers in Europe over the last decade, the deal represents a risk considering the player’s age—he is 31—and his recent injury record [The Guardian].

Van Persie managed only 10 goals in 27 appearances last season, a decline on the 12 goals in 21 outings he managed under David Moyes.

However, the forward’s halcyon days of the 2012-13 season, when he won his first and only Premier League title, scoring 26 goals in 38 outings in the top flight, have become distant memories for United fans.

The Red Devils agreed to sell the player for a reported £4.7 million [The Guardian], despite having signed him for £24 million only three seasons ago [BBC].
