Gunners edging nearer to striker deal.

Arsenal could be edging closer to letting young striker Joel Campbell leave the club this summer after receiving a £6m bid from Real Sociedad, according to the Daily Mirror.

The 23-year-old has not travelled with the Arsenal team for pre-season, and the Mirror say he has made it clear he wants to leave the Emirates Stadium if he is not a regular in the side in 2015/16.

Campbell is yet to make a start for the Gunners since joining the club all the way back in the summer of 2011, and has been sent out on loan to four different clubs, including a stint in Spain last season with Villarreal.

It could now be that the young attacker could head back to La Liga, with former Manchester United manager David Moyes seemingly a fan of his and hoping to bring him to Real Sociedad, though Portuguese giants Benfica are also mentioned as contenders for his signature.

It could be good business for Arsenal to sell Campbell for £6m this summer, with Arsene Wenger already having plenty of quality options in his attack for the season ahead, with the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck all battling it out for places up front.

Campbell, meanwhile, has not done enough to impress when given a chance in the Arsenal first-team, and it looks increasingly like his future lies away from the club after his exclusion from the team’s pre-season preparations.
