A large portion of Real Madrid supporters are happy to wait until next summer to land Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea, Mirror Sport reports.

The Spaniard has been heavily linked with a return to La Liga this summer and the Santiago Bernabeu is his most likely destination, however the two European giants are yet to agree on a fee.

This led to reports in the media [via Mirror Sport] that Los Blancos were prepared to sign De Gea for nothing when his contract with the Red Devils expires at the end of the upcoming season and it appears 70% of the club’s fans would be happy with the decision.

Should Madrid follow through with this plan then it is likely to leave them with just one senior goalkeeper in the ranks with Keylor Navas, although there has been rumours that Espanyol stopper Kiko Casilla is closing in on a move to the La Liga giants [via Guardian Sport].
