Old Trafford side close in on keeper signing.

Man United are set to sign free agent keeper Sergio Romero according to the Daily Express.

The Argentine international is available on a free transfer and is set for an Old Trafford medical and would represent Louis van Gaal’s fifth summer signing.

Romeo is a quality custodian who can offer David De Gea a stiff challenge to the starting spot now that Victor Valdes has left Man United.

AS Roma and Real Madrid are also said to be chasing Romero, who left Sampdoria in the summer, and is Gerardo Martino’s first choice national team goalie.
