Stamford Bridge side look to bring in Bundesliga starlet.

Chelsea are confident of completing a deal to sign Ghanaian international left-back Baba Rahman according to the Sunday Mirror.

The impressive young full-back has impressed since moving to Germany in 2012, first with Greuther Fürth and then with Augsburg, and is strongly linked with a move to replace Brazilian Filipe Luis at Stamford Bridge.

Luis, who move to West London last year, is set to resign for Atletico Madrid (via the Sunday Mirror), leaving a spot free for Rahman to fill.

The Sunday Mirror state that despite interest from AS Roma a move to Chelsea is most likely as the young defender has expressed his desire to move to London.

Rahman would do well to think long and hard about completing a move to Chelsea as it’s likely that initially he will be playing second fiddle to first-choice starter Cesar Azpilicueta who is a virtual ever present under Jose Mourinho.

The former Marseille man was initially considered a right-back but has made the left-flank berth his own since moving to Chelsea back in August 2012, making 132 appearances in his three seasons at the club.

Rahman made 31 Bundesliga appearance in his debut season at Augsburg and played a key role in their superb fifth place finish in 2014/15 and already has 11 national team caps to his name and is certainly a hot prospect with a great deal of potential.
