Old Trafford side set to secure deals for Ajax and Valencia pair.

Man United look set to complete the signing of two players who will help to solidify the Old Trafford side’s defence with moves in place to bring in a rock solid centre-back and an ideal replacement for keeper David de Gea.

Spanish source Fichajes claims that Louis van Gaal’s long running move to capture Valencia centre-back Nicolas Otamendi is almost complete.

Man United are ready to meet the Mestalla outfit’s €50 (£33m) price-tag and a deal to sign the no-nonsense defender is imminent.

Van Gaal has also reportedly edged closer to bringing in Ajax keeper Jasper Cillessen with the Metro claiming the Dutch international has agreed a deal to join Man United.

The Premier League side will pay £17.8m for Cillessen (via the Metro) though the timing of the move will be dictated by David De Gea’s Man United future.

The Spaniard is expected to join Real Madrid though Man United insist that such a deal would only occur if Sergio Ramos were to move in the opposite direction, failing that a move would most likely take place in 12 months time when De Gea’s contract will expire.
