Anfield side keen on PSG flyer.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has taken a keen interest in PSG left-back Lucas Digne according to the Daily Mail.

The stylish 22-year-old wide-man moved to the Parc des Princes from Lille in July 2013 but has struggled to retain a foot-hold in Laurent Blanc’s first team set-up.

In his first season at the Ligue 1 side Digne made 15 domestic league starts and last term managed just 14 and perhaps most tellingly the attack minded full-back didn’t start a single one of PSG’s Champions League fixtures as Blanc’s side pushed on to the quarter-final stage before losing to Barcelona.

Last season Brendan Rodgers used Alberto Moreno as his first choice left-back and the former Sevilla man wasn’t hugely impressive in his debut season at the club.

Rodgers can also call-upon Jose Enrique and John Flanagan to fill the role but is now keeping tabs on PSG youngster Digne.

The Daily Mail confirm that Liverpool are to announce the signing of Aston Villa forward Christian Benteke in a £32.5m deal, which would make the Belgian the Anfield side’s seventh signing of the summer.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has already completed deals to sign free agents James Milner, Danny Ings and Adam Bodan as well as capturing young defender Joe Gomez, Brazilian Roberto Firmino and Southampton right-back Nathaniel Clyne.
