Chicago Fire coach Frank Yallop has indicated that he is expecting his team to have clarity on whether Didier Drogba will move to the Major League Soccer outfit.

The Chelsea legend was released by the Stamford Bridge side at the end of the season, having won his fourth Premier League title in west London.

He has been heavily tipped for a move to Major League Soccer, with Montreal Impact and Chicago Fire understood to be keen on bringing the forward to the Eastern Conference [L’Equipe].

The latter are in pole position for the forward, and coach Yallop admitted on Wednesday evening that he is expecting confirmation on Drogba’s future in the next two days.

“We are awaiting his response,” the manager began, speaking after his team’s quarter-final victory over Orlando City Soccer Club in the US Open Cup, “probably in the next 48 hours.

“We are satisfied with our offer,” he continued, as reported by L’Equipe, “now it’s up to him to choose, we will see.”

The French source also reported that the attacker has been keen on ending his career in MLS, so one of the two looks set to secure his signature, with Drogba rejecting offers from Qatar in order to keep his options open in the United States or Canada.
