Arsenal, Manchester United, and Liverpool BLOW as Ligue 1 champions wade in to transfer battle

Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester United have been hit by the news that PSG have got involved in the race to sign Sporting Lisbon star William Carvalho, reports the Daily Express.

The Ligue 1 champions are even willing to meet the 23-year-old’s £32 million release clause, putting the Premier League trio on the back foot. The Parisians have offered £25 million with an extra £7 million in add ons, which they hope will tempt the Portuguese club in to selling.

The midfielder impressed at the Under 21s European Championships this summer. He was a part of the Portugal team which got to the final of the tournament, and also knocked England out in the group stages.

With Financial Fair Play restrictions relaxed, they are free to spend big again, and this deal could actually be dwarfed by the French side bringing Angel Di Maria to Paris from the Red Devils.

While United have signed Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin in this transfer window and may not be too bothered by missing out on the player, both the Gunners and their Merseyside rivals may be seriously worried with this development.

The duo both have issues in defensive midfield, and Carvalho could be the answer. The youngster is one of the best talents in Europe at the moment.
