Zlatan Ibrahimovic: Man Utd target opens up on Paris future amid Old Trafford speculation

Paris Saint-Germain’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic has been heavily linked with Manchester United over the past week [via Sky Sports], and the striker has provided an update on his future.

The 33-year-old caused considerable excitement on Friday when, in an interview with Sports Illustrated, he lifted the lid on his volatile relationship with Louis van Gaal, but claimed that it wouldn’t affect his decision to work with the former Netherlands manager in the future.

However, perhaps sadly for van Gaal and Red Devils supporters, the Sweden international has since insisted that he is content with seeing out the remaining year on his current contract at the Parc des Princes, despite being flattered by transfer interest:

“I have a contract for another year, so I’m a PSG player, and I’m happy at the club,” the centre-forward told ESPN FC.

“I did great things in these three years and what I did, nobody can take away from me and my team is a fantastic team and I play with great players. I live in the best city in Europe, so I’m enjoying it.

“So all about future talks and that, I mean, there will always be talks, and I’m happy for the interest, but I’m a PSG player.”

Ibrahimovic is set to meet with United on Thursday 30th July – when the Ligue 1 champions and the Premier League giants battle it out in a pre-season friendly at the Soldier Field Stadium in Chicago – and his reception could certainly be a talking point.

While PSG’s No.10 has been linked with a move to Old Trafford, the Red Devils’ Angel Di Maria is rumoured to be heading to Laurent Blanc’s side this summer – just a year after swapping the Santiago Bernabeu for the Theatre of Dreams.

According to the Express, the Argentina international has agreed a deal with Les Parisiens, and is expected to complete a £45.9m deal next week.
