Reigning Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain have denied making a stunning £85million bid for Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Various media outlets including Mail Sport reported over the weekend that the French side saw their huge offer rejected by the La Liga giants, who are adamant that the Portuguese international is not for sale.

However, in a surprise turn of events, rumours of such an offer has been strongly denied by last season’s Champions League quarter-finalists:

“It is quite untrue,” PSG club president Nasser al Khelaifi’s advisory team told Spanish publication Marca [via Mirror Sport].

There has been intense rumours over the past week that Ronaldo could depart the Santiago Bernabeu before the transfer window closes in just under a month’s time and a sensational return to former club Manchester United has been touted [via Manchester Evening News].

Los Blancos manager Rafael Benitez has already denied claims that Ronaldo is unhappy at the Spanish club [via Mirror Sport] and will have to endure at least another month of transfer speculation regarding the club’s most prized asset.
