The promising German international has already completed five Bundesliga campaigns but is still just 21 years of age and has long been the subject of interest from Europe’s ‘Elite’.

Arsenal have been linked with a move for Draxler for some time with Draxler having admitted a year ago that he turned down the chance to move to the Emirates Stadium (via BBC Sport).

The Daily Express claim Juventus made an offer of €22million (£15.6m) but that bid fell short of Schalke’s €30m (£21.4m) valuation of their youthful star.

Draxler broke into the Schalke first team set-up in January 2011 at the age of 17, becoming one of the youngest Bundesliga players ever, and has racked up 157 appearances for the German side and is a regular in Joachim Low’s national team set-up.

The young wide midfielder missed most of last season with a thigh injury and returned in April but was unable to help Schalke to secure a Champions League berth for 2015/16.

Draxler impressed during Schalke’s draw away at Chelsea in the Champions League last October though the multitude of wide-midfield options available to Jose Mourinho see the youngster struggle to make an instant impact.
