Man United to complete £46m deal: Medical planned ahead of unveiling next week

Manchester United have agreed a £46 million deal to sell Angel Di Maria to Paris Saint-Germain according to L’Equipe [via the Daily Express].

The 27-year-old Argentine international has rarely looked to be a player worth the £59.7 million [via BBC Sport] United shelled out to bring him to Old Trafford, and looks set to complete a move to Parc des Princes imminently.

The former Real Madrid attacker arrived at Old Trafford having helped his Bernabeu side to a Champions League title, and also played a key role in Argentina’s run to the 2014 World Cup final. Much was expected of the wiry wide-man last term, but he largely failed to meet expectations.

Angel Di Maria scored three goals in his first five Premier League appearances and then proceeded to fail to net again for the remainder of his debut season at Man United.

Towards the end of the campaign Louis van Gaal elected to drop Angel di Maria to the bench, with Juan Mata and Ashley Young both showing a real return to form, whilst the summer arrival of Memphis Depay will have left the South American’s future at the club in further doubt.

The player has agreed personal terms with PSG [Marca via the Daily Star], with the Ligue 1 side offering the United wideman a £150k-a-week deal.
