Chelsea forward Mohamed Salah has arrived in Italy and is on the brink of completing a move to AS Roma.

The attacker received a rapturous reception upon his arrival on Italian soil, and his imminent signing is clearly a popular decision by the Giallorossi, at least if the reaction of their fans is anything to go by.

According to Sky Sports, the Egypt international is set to move on a one-year loan deal, with Roma having an obligation to sign the player permanently next summer.

The price of that transfer will be £14.7 million, and represents a decent increase on the £11 million the Pensioners paid FC Basel to sign the forward in January last year [BBC].

The North African has struggled to establish himself at Stamford Bridge over the subsequent 18 months, and only truly impressed last season when he was loaned out to Fiorentina.

The Viola, as well as Serie A fallen giants Internazionale, were keen on signing the forward this summer—as per the Daily Mail—but ultimately both have missed out to Roma, who can offer the attacker the chance to play in the Champions League.

Salah, now 23, managed nine goals for Fiorentina last term, and, along with the likes of Gervinho, Seydou Doumbia and the iconic Francesco Totti, could form a dazzling forward line in Rome.
