Ligue 1 coach proposes bet that he will sign Liverpool & Arsenal transfer target

Montpellier Herault Sport Club coach Rolland Courbis has expressed his overwhelming confidence that he will sign exquisite playmaker Yoann Gourcuff.

Speaking to RMC [as per Le 10 Sport], the manager has proposed a bet to Olympique Lyonnais president Jean-Michel Aulas that he will be able to sign the attacking midfielder.

Gourcuff left Lyon at the end of the season, having come to the end of his contract with Les Gones. Despite the class he demonstrated in Ligue 1 last term—where he contributed three goals and four assists as OL pushed Paris Saint-Germain close to the title—Gourcuff is yet to find a new club ahead of the new campaign.

The midfielder has been linked with a move to Olympique de Marseille, according to Le 10 Sport, although BeInSports [via the same source] have reported that Montpellier are considering a move for the player.

Lyon president Aulas recently indicated that Stade Rennais were also eying a move for the player, although MHSC coach Courbis is adamant that the player will be ending up at Montpellier.

“I will make a friendly bet with him,” the manager began, as per Le 10 Sport, “that he is mistaken!”
