It is the first time that Arsene Wenger has bested Jose Mourinho in a match, and he has his team to thank for getting rid of the hoodoo.
Here is how they rated in the fixture…
GK) Petr Cech, 8
Didn’t have much to do in the first half, but was solid when called upon in the second. One save from an Oscar free-kick was especially impressive.
RB) Hector Bellerin, 8
It is a testament to the 20-year-old’s abilities that Eden Hazard was quiet for much of the match.
LB) Nacho Monreal, 8
Willian was just as quiet as Hazard for much of the encounter, and the Spaniard was well on top of the winger.
CB) Per Mertesacker, 6
Dealt well with Loic Remy and then Radamel Falcao, but it may be a different story when up against someone like Diego Costa.
CB) Laurent Koscielny, 6
Made no mistakes, but was also rarely called upon until the second half. He performed well when was forced in to action.
