Manchester United in negotiations to sign Pedro for £2.8m

Manchester United are in negotiations to sign Palmeiras star Joao Pedro, reports FOX Sports (via Metro).

The Red Devils have made a £2.8m bid for the 18-year-old, who played 18 times for the Brazilian side last season. He recently starred at the Under 20s World Cup for his country, and this may have been what caught the Premier League side’s eye. He played alongside United youngster Andreas Pereira in the tournament.

Although Louis van Gaal has experienced problems with his defence at Old Trafford, Pedro would likely be one for the future if he joins. Having never played outside of South America it would take a while for the player to deal with the culture change and also the vast difference in styles of football.
