Manchester United & Arsenal lurking as £40m star could follow Benzema out of the Bernabeu

Arsenal, Manchester United, Liverpool, and Chelsea have all been alerted to the possible availability of Real Madrid star Toni Kroos, reports Le Parisien [via Daily Express].

PSG are the frontrunners to sign the 25-year-old, however, meaning the Premier League quartet may have a tough fight to sign the midfielder. The Ligue 1 champions want the player to replace Thiago Motta, who has linked with Atletico Madrid, the Express claim.

The German international is ready to leave the Bernabeu despite having only joined Los Merengues from Bayern Munich last summer. In his single campaign, the World Cup winner managed seven assists and two goals for Los Blancos, as they lost out to Barcelona in the title race.

Still a top performer, it is unknown why Kroos wants to leave. While the Red Devils have signed Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin and may not be interested in another central midfielder, any of the other sides would be improved by the addition of the German.

Kroos is not the only player who could be leaving Rafael Benitez’s side in the near future, as Karim Benzema has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal recently. The north Londoners are apparently keeping £46m aside to buy the player, according to AS. It seems unlikely that Arsene Wenger would be able to afford both, with Kroos valued at around £40m according to the Express, but if he could pull it off, then the double swoop would possibly make them favourites for the Premier League title.
