Arsenal playmaker divulges on Arsene Wenger’s hopes of signing Real Madrid superstar

Arsenal midfielder Santi Cazorla has discussed the Gunners’ chances of luring Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema to the Emirates – and his thoughts aren’t promising.

Reports over the weekend claimed that the north London giants have set aside £45.8m to tempt Los Blancos into selling the France international, suggesting that Arsenal could be set for another summer of late transfer activity.

However, Cazorla believes that Arsene Wenger has already decided his team for the new season, and it doesn’t feature a new striker – despite the quality of the man at question:

“I’m not very aware on whether there is any interest or not,” he told CadenaCOPE.

“The manager knows it better than anyone. Benzema is a great player. Every side would like to have him but I think the manager already has his team made and probably he is not looking for another striker.”

“Benzema fits into any team. The good players fit well in every side. He has quality and would adapt great.”
