Serie A giants open talks with Liverpool over £6m deal for Italian flop

Italian striker Fabio Borini is set to be offered a chance to end his Liverpool nightmare as Serie A giants Fiorentina have reportedly opened talks over a £6million transfer, according to Mail Sport.

The 24-year-old has struggled to establish himself at Anfield since arriving from fellow Italian side AS Roma in the summer of 2012 and last season he managed to score just one goal in 12 Premier League appearances and is understood to be keen on a return to his home country in a bid to get more first-team football under his belt.

Borini, who was left out of the Reds squad for the pre-season tour of the Far East and Australia earlier in the summer, appears to have no future with the Merseyside outfit following the summer arrivals of Christian Benteke and Danny Ings and could now be set to rebuild his career in Florence.
