Everton are closing in on a deal to sign QPR forward Charlie Austin according to the Metro.

Odds on the Toffees signing the 26-year-old Loftus Road star have dramatically reduced in recent days and Roberto Martinez is ready to offer the West London side an initial £12m fee for the striker.

Austin bagged 18 goals in his debut season in the English top tier, this despite the fact that QPR finished bottom of the Premier League, and it’s looking increasingly likely the former Swindon Town man will make an instant return to the top flight.
