Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal wants £25m-rated Ajax goalkeeper to replace David De Gea

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal appears to be resigned to the fact that goalkeeper David De Gea will depart the club at some point this summer and the Dutchman is ready to bring in compatriot Jasper Cillessen as a replacement.

According to reports in Mail Sport, van Gaal has told the Ajax stopper that he is his first choice target to fill the void should De Gea complete his move to La Liga giants Real Madrid before the transfer window slams shut next month.

With last season’s Eredivisie runners-up failing to progress into the Champions League group stages this year, United are confident of tying up a deal for the £25million-rated goalkeeper without too many problems.

Following De Gea’s exclusion from the starting XI for United’s season opener against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, it does appear that the 24-year-old is edging closer to an exit , however, van Gaal has warned Los Blancos that the stopper won’t be allowed to leave Old Trafford cheaply.
