Manchester United ‘to finally seal transfer of £25m Spanish international’ this week

United close to sorting out long-running transfer saga.

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea should move a step closer to signing for Real Madrid this week, with the Spanish giants preparing a £25m bid for the unsettled star.

The 24-year-old has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu all summer long, and could now be close to getting his wish after being left out of today’s squad for the game against Tottenham.

It is expected that Real will pay £25m for the player, but it remains to be seen if that will prove enough to persuade the Red Devils to sell, with rumours that they’d previously wanted closer to £30m or even as much as £35m.

However, according to the Daily Mail, Real are hopeful of concluding a deal for that price as they eye a long-term replacement for club legend Iker Casillas.
