Arsenal legend FAILS to back Theo Walcott’s case to operate as the club’s main striker this season

Theo Walcott has been craving for the chance to play as a centre-forward for Arsenal for many years now, but it appears he is yet to convince club legend Thierry Henry that he’s capable of holding down a regular place in the team in that position.

The Frenchman, who is now a pundit on Sky Sports, was asked a question as to whether Walcott was an upgrade on the Gunners current number one striker Oliver Giroud to lead the line in attack and Henry’s response was quite startling.

Take a look at his reaction in the video clip below:

While Henry did not give a definitive answer to Graeme Souness’ question, it’s quite clear that the Gunners legend doesn’t feel Walcott can operate as the main striker this season.

It remains to be seen whether manager Arsene Wenger agrees with his former captain or not, but he has been linked with a move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema before the transfer window closes and it should become clear about where Walcott will operate this year when the North Londoners begin their campaign at home to West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.
