Liverpool close in on Barcelona attacker signing as target flies in for talks

Barcelona attacker Adama Traore has flown into England ahead of talks with a number of potential Premier League suitors according to Fichajes (via the Daily Mirror).

The 19-year-old winger is considered a hot prospect, but has struggled to force his way into Luis Enrique’s first-team set-up.

Traore made his La Liga debut back in November 2013 but is yet to add to that appearance, though did net his first senior goal for the club in Barcelona’s 8-1 Copa del Rey mauling of SD Huesca last December.

The Daily Mirror report that Liverpool are nearing a move to sign the teenager, and that Everton and Aston Villa are also due to enter into talks with the Nou Camp starlet imminently.

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is known for trusting in youth, and has enjoyed a very busy summer transfer window to date, with the Northern Irishman welcoming in no less than seven new signings thus far.

Free agents James Milner, Danny Ings and Adam Bogdan have been joined by the likes of Joe Gomez, Roberto Firmino, Nathaniel Clyne and Christian Benteke in an extensive summer transfer window spending spree.

Liverpool endured a miserable campaign in 2014/15, the Merseyside outfit slipping from their second-placed finish of 2013/14 down to sixth last time around, and Rodgers will hope the new additions can help signal a return to form.

While Traore may ostensibly be considered as a long-term investment for the Reds, Liverpool risk being short in wide areas ahead of the new campaign, and the prodigy could be called upon to make a difference right now.
