Blues target two new defensive additions.

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will look to push through deals to sign two defenders before the summer transfer window slams shut.

The Stamford Bridge side have seen a €25m (£17m) bid for Augsburg left-back Baba Rahman turned down with the Bundesliga side hoping to garner €30m (£21m) from the sale of the Ghana international (via The Guardian).

The 21-year-old full-back is seen by Mourinho as a replacement for Filipe Luis following the Brazilian’s return to Atletico Madrid.

Having failed with two previous bids for Everton defender John Stones it’s been reported that the Toffees will sell the England man for a fee of £34m (via the Daily Mirror).

Stones is considered by some as an ideal long term replacement for Chelsea skipper John Terry and an increased bid for the former Barnsley man would be hard for the Goodison Park side to turn down.

John Stones has impressed since moving to Everton and the Merseyside club stand to make a massive profit on the £3m they invested in the player back in January 2011.
