Everton agree deal to sign Stoke City target Xherdan Shaqiri

Everton have reportedly agreed a fee for Inter Milan winger Xherdan Shaqiri according to the Metro.

The 23-year-old was in the stands during Stoke City’s home defeat to Liverpool and had been strongly linked with a move to join the Potters but it appears Roberto Martinez has hijacked that deal.

Shaqiri will be looking to revive his career after a frustrating spell at Bayern Munich, which ultimately led to his move to the San Siro in January.

Stoke City were set to pay £13.4m for the flying Swiss international, who bagged a hat-trick during the 2014 World Cup finals, but now it seems Shaqiri is set to make a Goodison Park switch.

Martinez will hope Shaqiri will offer him a fresh, direct, option in the final third as the Spaniard looks to put last season’s poor campaign behind him.

Everton started the season with a 2-2 draw at home to newly promoted Watford.
