Under-fire Arsenal striker responds to criticism with rallying call in latest social media post

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has taken to social media and reassured supporters that he and his teammates are working hard to bounce back from their disappointing opening day defeat against London rivals West Ham United.

The Gunners produced a lacklustre display against the Hammers at the weekend and were made to pay for goalkeeper Petr Cech’s two costly mistakes on his debut as goals from Cheikhou Kouyate and Mauro Zarate helped the visitors leave the Emirates Stadium with all three points in new manager Slaven Bilic’s first league game in charge.

The defeat was certainly a tough pill to swallow for many supporters of the North London outfit and a section appeared to criticise Giroud for his inablity to convert a couple of chances that fell his way, however, the Frenchman responded to the loss with a message posted on his official Twitter account on Monday afternoon.
