Tottenham weighing up move for Manchester City contract REBEL

Tottenham are among the teams weighing up a move for Manchester City contract rebel Rony Lopes, reports the Metro.

The 19-year-old has also caught the eye of Everton and Newcastle, who is highly rated after a successful loan with Ligue 1 side Lille. He managed three goals in 27 appearances for the French side, and has also played five matches for Portugal Under 21s. Although, these performances don’t seem to be enough to impress Manuel Pellegrini.

The attacking midfielder has now rejected a new contract with the Citizens, meaning that a move away could be on the cards. With the Sky Blues spending big on players such as Raheem Sterling in his position, the youngster may think that his career is best served by moving somewhere he’d have a better chance of first team football.

Spurs could certainly offer that, with manager Mauricio Pochettino showing a propensity for trusting in youth over in his debut season. Harry Kane, Ryan Mason, and Nabil Bentaleb all benefitted from the Argentinian’s willingness to play younger players, and Lopes may want to follow in their footsteps.
