REVEALED: Sensational training ground incident which has left Mario Balotelli with no future with Liverpool

Controversial striker Mario Balotelli is almost certain to leave Liverpool this summer after just one season on Merseyside and a report in Independent Sport has revealed the bizarre reason as to why this transfer has not worked out.

The Italian arrived at Anfield from Serie A giants AC Milan for a fee believed to be in the region of £16million [via BBC Sport] and he was expected to finally come of age under manager Brendan Rodgers after failing to fulfill his enormous potential whilst at previous clubs Manchester City and Inter Milan.

However, in typical Balotelli fashion, he struggled to establish himself in the team last season and despite the long-term absence of Daniel Sturridge, he managed to find the back of the net just once in the league, with his last goal coming back in February during an Europa League tie against Besiktas.

The 25-year-old’s exit from the club was all but confirmed during a training session in the build up to the Reds’ clash against Arsenal towards the back end of last season as he scored an outrageous own-goal which left many members of the first-team amazed.

Balotelli reportedly laughed off the situation and that has further highlighted the fact that he won’t ever become a top player unless his attitude changes for the better.
