Liverpool star DEMANDS improvement on last season’s disaster, targets trophy and top four finish

Liverpool playmaker Adam Lallana insists a top four finish in the Barclays Premier League and a trophy this season is a realistic target for the team.

The Reds were in the contention for the Champions League spots towards the end of the 2014-15 campaign, but back-to-back defeats in crucial games against rivals Arsenal and Manchester United ultimately cost them dearly and they ended up finishing sixth.

This summer has seen a host of new arrivals at the club as James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Joe Gomez, Roberto Firmino, Nathaniel Clyne and Christian Benteke have all been recruited by manager Brendan Rodgers in an attempt to break into the top four this season.

Philippe Coutinho’s late winner against Stoke City last week ensured the Reds began the new campaign with three points and England international Lallana believes the Anfield faithful will have more reasons to celebrate come the end of the season.
