Chelsea skipper John Terry treats himself to £1.5m present after half time humiliation at Manchester City

Posted by

Veteran Chelsea captain John Terry was hauled off at half time by Jose Mourinho in their defeat to Manchester City, and the centre-back certainly looked glum on the Etihad bench as he was only able to watch on in misery as his side fell to a 3-0 thrashing by last season’s runners-up.

During the game, there were suggestions that Terry may have been taken off through injury, but Mourinho confirmed after the game that his decision was tactical – that Kurt Zouma had to play.

His place in west London is thus no longer guaranteed, and Premier League supporters really could be witnessing the beginning of the end for the 34-year-old at Stamford Bridge.

It’s no wonder Terry needed cheering up.

And as any footballer would do, he turned to his bulging bank account.
