Real Madrid offer David de Gea £12m signing-on fee if he leaves Man United next summer

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has been offered a huge financial incentive to see out the final year of his contract at Old Trafford before moving to Real Madrid, according to the Daily Mirror.

The Spanish international is a target for Real this summer, but it may be that the Liga BBVA giants will wait one more season before trying to bring him to the Bernabeu as they could save on a transfer fee.

The Daily Mail have previously reported that Real would offer £25m to sign De Gea before the end of the transfer window, but it now looks like a free transfer next summer is looking increasingly likely as the two clubs seemingly struggle to reach an agreement.

The Mirror report that Real will offer De Gea a huge £12m bonus if he joins them at the end of his contract with United, as they are clearly willing to pay a considerable fee to secure the talented 24-year-old as the long-term replacement for recently-departed club legend Iker Casillas.

De Gea’s fine form for the Red Devils last season saw him establish himself as one of the very best shot-stoppers in the world, but doubts over his future this summer have seen him miss his side’s opening two games against Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.

It remains to be seen if he can break back into Louis van Gaal’s side, with the Dutchman recently quoted by The Guardian as saying the player was not sufficiently focused to be in the team.
