Tottenham are ready to make a fresh offer for long-term target Saido Berahino with the North London side confident that a fee of £22m will be enough to convince West Brom to sell the forward according to the London Evening Standard.
The Baggies have already invested in new strikers Rickie Lambert and Salomon Rondon, the latter for a club record £12m fee, but still turned down an opening £15m bid for 22-year-old England man Berahino.
Mauricio Pochettino will look to secure Saido Berahino and field him alongside Harry Kane and new signing Clinton N’Jie in a new look White Hart Lane attack.
Berahino bagged 20 goals in all competitions last season and has impressed at England Under 21 level, netting ten goals in 11 appearances, and the 22-year-old’s chances of securing a maiden senior cap will be aided by a high-profile move to Tottenham.
Pochettino has already successfully offloaded Roberto Soldado and continues to push for the sale of forward Emmanuel Adebayor but it appears the Togo international’s £110k a week wage expectations are a substantial obstacle.
