Manchester United set to reignite interest in Real Madrid superstar, following Pedro snub

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal is refusing to abandon his pursuit of bringing a big-name player to Old Trafford this summer and Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale has become his number one transfer target, according to Mail Sport.

The Red Devils suffered a huge blow in their hopes of replacing club-record signing Angel Di Maria, who joined Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain earlier in the transfer window, as Premier League rivals Chelsea pipped them to the signing of Pedro from Barcelona.

This has left van Gaal switching his attentions to other targets and he has been linked with a move for Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller as well as a shock swoop for Southampton’s Sadio Mane.

However, with both clubs unwilling to do business regarding their key players, the United boss is set to reignite his interest in Bale and has reportedly told those close to him that he’s confident a deal can be done for the Welshman.
