£60m-rated Manchester United transfer target and Bundesliga star labels valuation as “crazy”

Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller has spoken out about rumours linking him with a summer transfer to Premier League giants Manchester United, Manchester Evening News reports.

United manager Louis van Gaal has reportedly placed the German international on his transfer wishlist in an attempt to turn the club into genuine title challengers this season and the Dutchman is set to step up his pursuit of the 25-year-old after being rebuffed in his attempts to lure Pedro to Old Trafford.

The Spanish winger completed his £21million transfer to Chelsea on Thursday from Liga BBVA giants Barcelona, despite reports of United chief executive Ed Woodward flying out to Spain to complete a deal for the 28-year-old earlier in the week.

With the transfer window closing in just under two weeks, the Red Devils face a race against time to bolster their attacking options and reports in German-based publication Bild on Wednesday claimed a £60million bid had been placed for Muller.

Signing Muller would reprsent a brilliant piece of business for United as he is regarded as one of the best forwards in European football at the moment, however, the player himself admitted his valuation has taken him by surprise:

“It’s basically crazy the numbers which are currently kicking around in football – that’s just business,” he told German broadcaster Sport1.

“No one is worth €100m, it’s just a trade figure, so I am quite relaxed about the whole thing,” Muller added.
