Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger UNDERLINES importance of home form this season

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has called on his squad to improve their home form ahead of the huge clash against Liverpool on Monday night.

The Gunners have won just one of their last five Premier League games at the Emirates Stadium and have already lost at home to West Ham on the opening day of the new season.

With his side hoping to mount a genuine challenge for the title this year, Wenger admits their home form will be crucial and wants to see a big performance against the Merseyside outfit:

“If you want to have a successful season you want to be strong at home,” the Frenchman told the club’s official website.

“Normally we are strong at home. This is an opportunity to show that.”

“We missed our first game and we had to look at ourselves, and we responded very well. Now we need to come back to our usual strength that we have at home”

“In the corresponding fixture last season, the hosts were convincing winners in North London as Hector Bellerin, Mesut Ozil, Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud all got on the scoresheet in a 4-1 victory,” Wenger added.

Recent history suggests the Gunners will take at least a point from the game against the Reds as they are unbeaten in the last four meetings between the two at the Emirates.
