Chelsea boss admits ‘there is always an opportunity’ amid links to Serie A star

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has refused to talk about rumours linking him to a move for Juventus star Paul Pogba, reports the Daily Express.

However, the Portuguese coach also admitted that ‘there is always an opportunity’ to do business in the transfer window. Recently, the Blues signed Pedro, despite many reports claiming that Manchester United were set to complete a deal for the former Barcelona man, showing the propensity for unpredictability in the window.

The Stamford Bridge outfit have been linked with a £60 million move for the youngster, but may prefer to include both Oscar and Juan Cuadrado as part of the deal in order to lower the asking proce [Daily Express].

“I can’t speak about a Juventus player,” Mourinho said, “I know Allegri was speaking all summer about [Chelsea players] Oscar and Ramires, but I don’t do that.”

He also added later: “People used to call it the transfer window. I call it the opportunity window. While the window is open, there is always an opportunity. As a club, decided not to lose out (on Pedro). We tried to get him. And we are happy that the player chose us.”

Pogba has become one of the best players on the continent since being allowed to leave Manchester United for nothing in 2013. Last season, the 22-year-old managed eight goals and three assists in 26 Serie A appearances, and played a key part as the Bianconeri won the Coppa Italia, Serie A, and got to the final of the Champions League.
