Chelsea and Manchester United offered SHOCK chance to sign £11m Brazilian forward

Chelsea and Manchester United have been offered the chance to sign Corinthians ace Alexandre Pato for around £11 million, reports the Daily Telegraph.

The 25-year-old has struggled in recent years, and was sent out on loan to Sao Paulo last season. The former Brazil international scored 17 goals in 45 appearances for the team, but did fail when he was last in Europe. In 150 matches for AC Milan the striker managed 63 goals, and was particularly poor in his final two campaigns, scoring six times in 25 appearances.

As such, it would be surprising if the Premier League duo signed the player. The Red Devils are especially in need of a forward, with only Wayne Rooney and Javier Hernandez as senior options in the position. However, Pato is unlikely to be the answer for manager Louis van Gaal.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has already brought Radamel Falcao to Stamford Bridge this summer, meaning Pato is even less needed by the club. The Portuguese also has Diego Costa and Loic Remy to choose from to spearhead his team as they look to retain their Premier League crown.
