Chelsea target BEGS for £36m transfer

Stamford Bridge side close in on talented youngster.

Everton defender John Stones is reportedly desperate to complete his move to Chelsea according to the Daily Express.

The 21-year-old England international has been the subject of several failed bids this summer and Chelsea are readying a £36m offer for the Toffees star and John Stones is ready to force the situation by putting in a transfer request and has begged chairman Bill Kenwright to accept the offer.

Everton paid Barnsley £3m for Stones two and a half years ago and the Oakwell side stand to secure a chunk of the sum the Goodison Park side would receive for the versatile defender.

Jose Mourinho has seen his Chelsea side concede seven goals in their opening three Premier League fixtures and may well feel the time is right to strengthen and renew his back-line.

Everton make new John Stones statement amidst Chelsea interest

Mourinho hauled off John Terry at half-time during Chelsea’s 3-0 defeat to Man City and then dropped Gary Cahill for their fixture away at West Brom, bringing in youngster Kurt Zouma in a bid to shore things up.

John Stones can play at both right-back or in the centre of defence and one can well see why Roberto Martinez would be loathe to lose the young talent.
