Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has warned the club’s supporters to not get their hopes up in regards to speculation surrounding Barcelona superstar Neymar.
The Brazilian international has emerged as a shock transfer target for the Red Devils over the weekend as manager Louis van Gaal looks to bolster his attacking options after seeing his side struggle for goals in their opening three games of the new Premier League season.
Neymar missed Barca’s opening game of the new Liga BBVA season against Athletic Bilbao on Sunday evening as he is short of fitness after only just returning to training following a bout of the mumps and there has been speculation that he is open to the possibility of a move to Old Trafford this summer.
However, Ferdinand took to social media and poured cold water over the rumours by insisting there is no chance of the transfer happening.
