£60m-rated Manchester United transfer target going NOWHERE, according to Bayern sporting director

Manchester United have been dealt a massive blow in their bid to sign Bayern Munich superstar Thomas Muller, Mirror Sport reports.

The 25-year-old has been constantly linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer and there were reports in German-based media publication Bild [via Manchester Evening news] last week that a stunning £60million bid had been placed by the Red Devils.

Muller himself was somewhat taken aback by his hefty valuation and admitted those figures were “crazy”.

United manager Louis van Gaal was urged to sign a new striker by club legend Paul Scholes over the weekend after they were held to a goalless draw by Newcastle United, however following comments from Bayern sporting director Matthias Sammer, it looks very unlikely that Muller will leave the Allianz Arena this summer:

“We will need every player,” he stressed to reporters.

“I think that there is nothing more that could happen,” Sammer added.

Whether the Dutch boss is able to land a new striker before the transfer window closes next week remains to be seen, but there doesn’t appear to be too many realistic targets for him to turn his attentions to especially after missing out on the signing of Pedro .
