Chelsea to make HUGE £72m offer for star to avoid Barcelona BATTLE

Chelsea are set to make a £72 million offer for Juventus star Paul Pogba, reports the Daily Express.

The Blues have already seen a £55 million offer for the 22-year-old turned down, but manager Jose Mourinho is still keen to sign him this summer. If they are unable to, then the Stamford Bridge outfit are willing to go after the France international next year, even though they will face competition from Barcelona.

The Blaugrana are currently unable to register new players, but by then the FIFA ban will be over. This could mean that the midfielder’s price will be pushed even higher by the extra competition for his signature if the Premier League side don’t make their move now.

Mourinho’s team have made a shaky start to the season, with a draw against Swansea City and loss to Manchester City being followed by a lucky win over West Brom. They have already brought in Pedro from Barcelona and Abdul Baba Rahman from Augsburg in reaction to this, but if they are to defend their league title it could take more additions to the squad.
