Liverpool: Premier League side want to hijack winger’s move to domestic giants

Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic’s proposed move to Turkish heavyweights Fenerbahce is in doubt following a last-minute move from Watford.

The newly-promoted side are keen to strengthen their options and, according to talkSPORT, are planning a move for the Serbian winger and are looking to bring him to Vicarage Road before the transfer window closes.

Until the Hornets’ interest was revealed, the attacker had looked set to move to Fenerbahce [talkSPORT], and despite the interest, talkSPORT believe that Markovic will still meet representatives from the Istanbul heavyweights over the weekend in order to discuss his proposed move to the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.

Watford have impressed so far upon their return to the top flight, but despite remaining unbeaten, they are yet to win a single game, having drawn three of their three fixtures to date.

They have only scored two goals—no team have scored fewer—and appear keen to improve their offensive options before the transfer window closes.

While Quique Sanchez Flores appears keen to bring in the Serbian wideman to increase Watford’s goal threat, it remains to be seen whether Markovic is the man to keep the Hornets afloat.
