The Citizens announced the news that the Belgian had completed his move from Bundesliga outfit VfL Wolfsburg on their official club website on Sunday afternoon to become manager Manuel Pellegrini’s fourth major signing of the summer.
After signing Raheem Sterling, Fabian Delph and Nicolas Otamendi earlier in the transfer window, De Bruyne appears to be the final piece in the jigsaw as they look to regain the Premier League title from Chelsea and also provide a strong challenge in the UEFA Champions League.
The 24-year-old, who had a spell in English football with the West London outfit 19 months ago, has enhanced his reputation as one of the very best playmakers in European football since joining Die Wolfe as he registered a stunning 20 assists in the league last season.
