Deal Close: Borussia Dortmund in ‘advanced talks’ to sign Manchester United star

Posted by

Borussia Dortmund are in advanced talks to sign Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj on loan before the close of the window on Tuesday evening.

Reports had claimed that Louis van Gaal, the Red Devils manager, would only grant the Belgium international a temporary exit if a replacement was signed; yet it seems that the young winger is set to regular experience first-team action away from Manchester for the remainder of the season.

While Dortmund are closing in on an agreement, Sky Sports state that Everton, Tottenham Hotspur, Olympique Marseille and Valencia are also interested in taking Januzaj on loan.

It would, however, come as a surprise if United gave the green light on a move to a Premier League rival.

Having featured often for United so far this season, including scoring the winner over Aston Villa in the league, the signs were that Januzaj was set to remain at the Theatre of Dreams, and could perhaps play a key role under van Gaal in a campaign in which the club have marked their return to the Champions League.

With the Red Devils attack short of options, if no replacement to Januzaj is signed, the Dutchman could suffer criticism from supporters.
